Sony NGP (PSP2)

RUMOR: NGP/PS Vita Launch Games Leaked

This rumor is probably the least probable of all the rumors as of late, due to the website it is coming from and the lack of knowledge of the journalist who wrote the story. However, it doesn’t sound too far fetched.

A site by name of PSPgweber.com has posted this list of games as launch games for the NGP or PS Vita or whatever it may end up being named:

  • Uncharted NGP
  • Little Deviants
  • Call of Duty
  • Lumines NGP
  • Sonic Generations
  • Mortal Kombat
  • Lego Harry Potter (5-7 years)
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 2012
  • Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition
  • F1 2011
  • Hot Shot Golf Next
  • FIFA 12
  • Wipeout

Now, it may be good to note just what the writer of the article has said about Call of Duty:

“Gamers have not seen Call of Duty on a portable platform since 2007. Now, this award winning game is coming to Vita and will most likely showcase top graphics and excellent gameplay that the series is famous for.”

Obviously, the writer either forgot or doesn’t know what he’s talking about since Call of Duty has been on the Nintendo DS. In fact, here’s a quick run-down of the games and years released:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – 2007
  • Call of Duty: World at War – 2008
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized – 2009
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops – 2010

So, as you can see, the writer completely skipped, not one, but THREE Call of Duty games. Okay, okay. We’ll give him a break. Maybe because he’s part of a PSP-only website, that he lacks knowledge of any other handheld.

Don’t think I’m trying to harp on him too much, but this is just one reason to think this rumor is just not going to become true. A second reason would be the fact that no source is given at all, which isn’t that bad of a thing until he mentions that this information is “100% confirmed.”
