RUMOR: MGS: Rising Switched Devs and MGS 5 Multi-Platform

There is a lot of information coming out today about the Metal Gear Solid series (a four part rumor to be exact), but just remember these are all rumors until confirmed by the developers themselves.

The rumor starts like this: Konami has apparently let go of Metal Gear Solid: Rising and allowed Platinum Games to take over. This actually meshes well with the lack of new information on the title and the lack of a solid release date.

The second part of the rumor mentions that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is indeed coming to the PlayStation 3 console. However, it still doesn’t completely confirm if it will be a PSP Remaster game or a whole new remake. More than likely, it will be part of the Remaster series, as it just makes more sense from a business perspective.

Another part of the rumor says that MGS1, MGS2, MGS3 and MGS4 will all be released for the PC through Valve’s Steam digital game distribution service.

Finally, the last part of the rumor is a biggie. Metal Gear Solid 5 (the next main installment) will be coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 and the Sony NGP and “possibly” the Nintendo 3DS.

The website mentions that they are confident in their source and “wouldn’t relay the information to you otherwise.” That reassurance still doesn’t make any of this easier to believe, besides the HD version of Peace Walker bit.

Another big E3 announcement may be awaiting us.
