Tekken x Street Fighter: 0% Complete

Namco Bandai and Capcom revealed last year that they were collaborating on two epic projects: Street Fighter x Tekken, a fighter pitting the two universes against each other using the Street Fighter art style and 2D fight style, and Tekken x Street Fighter, the same, only using the Tekken series’ 3D fighting style. As we’ve seen throughout the year, Capcom has made a lot of progress with their game, Street Fighter x Tekken, even having a playable version earlier this year at their Captivate event. Things are looking quite good for Capcom’s game.

If you were hoping Namco Bandai was just as far (or at least close) with their game, then I’m sorry to be the one to tell you, but they are NO WHERE close. Tekken x Street Fighter’s producer Katsuhiro Harada told press at their event in Dubai “we really haven’t started on Tekken X Street Fighter.” Yep…

I know what you’re thinking, “they don’t have time. They’re working hard helping Capcom with Street Fighter x Tekken.” No. Street Fighter x Tekken producer Yoshinori Oni told sources at Destructoid that Namco Bandai has no input on Capcom’s game. So there is no telling when we will get to experience Namco Bandai’s title. However, we will just have to hold on the fact that soon we will be playing the Capcom version, and that’s not so bad.
